On March 22, 2016, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2016 on TopUniversities.com. Computer science of SJTU ranked 44th, tied with UCSD and next only to that of Tsinghua University (17th) and Peking University (23th) among universities in mainland China.
